Day 8 - Wind

Air is probably my favourite of the four elements... or should I say the seven?

Thaaaaaaaaaaat's right, friends! Today's subject is the anemo element of GENSHIN IMPACT!!! Yaaayy!

I love Genshin Impact and have been playing it more often these days. I just finished the Geo Archon Quest and am moving onto the electro (broke to rich). Speaking of archon's financial statuses, Furina is estimated to be one of the most wealthy and finacially adept characters in the game. All that money, going to macaroni... Makes sense, with all the compound interest adding up over the course of five hundred years. Speaking of ages, did you know Raiden Shogun has been alive for approximately 3,000 years? 3,000 years, you would have thought she'd have learned to cook.

Fun trivia facts aside, back to the topic. So, anemo! It's one of the seven elements in Genshin Impact, and is the first archon quest the player is faced with. Mondstadt, the nation that worships Barbatos, the anemo archon, is the first of the seven nations of Teyvat the Traveler goes to. Some of Mondstadt's signature characteristics are giant windmills, cobblestone streets, and windmill asters (let's not forget the two iconic fatui agents staring at you the moment you teleport in to the convenient waypoint! I don't remember if they only start to be there after the anemo archon quest or not though).

The anemo archon is Barbatos, more often known as Venti, the bard who sings for the people (aka my favourite character!) He owns a lyre he named der Frühling, which, by the way, means "the spring" in German. Yes, his lyre has a name, because according to him, "every being deserves a name to be called upon, and woven into a song."

Venti based his appearance off the Nameless Bard, Venti's old friend who perished in the war to liberate old Mondstadt from Decarabian. The archon was a mere wind spirit at the time, who, after the war, rose to Celestia, and consequently, to the rank of archon.

The anemo archon quest is based around stopping Dvalin (Stormterror), Venti’s dragon friend, from wreaking havoc and hurting Mondstadt.

Hurt by both his abandonment and the painful blood clots on his back, Dvalin was tainted by the Abyss Order when they corrupted the poisonous blood of Durin in his system.

Dvalin then grew aggressive and attacked Mondstadt, believing the people he once protected had turned against him.

I won’t spoil the rest of the quest, but it ends with Venti being hurt, not by Dvalin, but by La Signora, eighth of the eleven fatui harbringers.

Well, that’s all for this one! May the winds be with you.
