Day 19 - Parent

Ha.

Funny.

The thing about this is, I'm a kid. So at first I had no idea what to write for this.

Then I knew exactly what to write.

Not many people read my blog. Next to no one, really. But just in case this gets bigger, just in case there's at least one parent out there reading this, I have a message for all the parents in the world. Do me a favour, will you? Stop reading for a moment, and go tell your kids that you love them. Tell them you love it and make sure they know you do before it's too late. Because when it's too late, no amount of "I love you"s are going to bring them back.

When it's too late, nothing can bring them back.

Every kid in this world deserves to know that there are people who unconditionally love them. I don't care if your kid is an absolute brat or acts like devil-spawn. They still deserve to feel loved. They still deserve to have those words said to them, not just to hear them, but to really feel them. To believe them.

Who knows, maybe you'll be lucky, and you'll catch them at a time they really needed to hear that.

And for the kids reading this, go and tell your parents you love them. Because it's not just kids that should feel loved, its the adults too. It may be difficult or awkward, but they deserve to hear it just as much as you do.

I believe that there should be space in everyone's hearts for people who need it. For anyrone from a stranger to a close family member, even just a little compassion, just a little room can go a long way. Somewhere warm to stay while they sort things out. Somewhere to stay while they make their own space for themselves, and then for others. And the first place a kid should feel safe going to is the space in their parents hearts.

Remember, once it's too late, nothing can bring your loved ones back.
